An exquisite masterpiece of mid-century Italian artistry, this investment-grade vintage Murano art glass pear sculpture was hand-blown by one of the most world-renowned and highly collected Murano glass maestros of the 20th century: Alfredo Barbini. Imported during the mid-century era (circa 1940s–1960s) by the prestigious New York importer Weil Ceramics & Glass, this exceptional piece represents the pinnacle of luxury European glass design brought to the American market.

The sculpture features a stunningly rich, deep cranberry/fuchsia solid glass core perfectly encased in a heavy, flawless clear crystal body. The stylized leaf and stem are magnificently detailed with dense, shimmering gold aventurine inclusions that catch the light brilliantly.

Of paramount importance to serious collectors, this piece retains its original, fully intact gold foil studio label, explicitly reading:
Venetian
MADE BY
ALFREDO BARBINI
FOR WEIL CERAMICS & GLASS
Murano
ITALY

Because many Barbini masterworks left the studio unsigned or with generic export labels, this prominent, named attribution sticker makes the piece an incredibly rare, highly documented find for an advanced art glass collection.

Approx Size: 6" H x 4" W
Weight: 2 lbs, 6.4 oz

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with outstanding clarity and no chips, cracks, or repairs to the heavy glass body. The delicate gold aventurine leaf and stem are structurally flawless. The highly coveted original gold foil label remains fully intact and firmly attached to the base, with only minor age-appropriate surface wear. The polished base shows minimal shelf wear consistent with its age and premium care.
